Mission

JM Barnes Outreach Ministries exists to prevent homelessness and provide hope to individuals and families in Coweta County and surrounding communities. We believe that every person deserves safe and stable housing, access to resources, and the dignity of being treated with compassion. Our mission is to stand in the gap for those facing eviction, housing instability, or overwhelming life challenges, offering both practical support and spiritual encouragement.

Programs and Services

  • Emergency Housing Assistance – Helping families remain in their homes through rental support when funding is available.
  • Future Growth – As we expand, we plan to offer life navigation support (help with SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, unemployment, and college applications), fair housing education, and spiritual care to strengthen families and communities.

Leadership

JM Barnes Outreach Ministries was founded by Janice M. Barnes, who holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Psychology. She brings decades of experience in case management, psychology, and community support services. Her leadership combines professional expertise, lived experience, and a strong commitment to empowering families. She is joined by a growing network of volunteers and partners who share her passion for building stronger, more resilient communities.

Vision for Impact

Our vision is to become a trusted anchor for families at risk of homelessness, serving as both a first point of help and a pathway to long-term stability. We aim to expand our programs to include a sustainable rental assistance fund, transitional housing, and partnerships that provide employment, financial literacy, and mental health support. Ultimately, our impact will be measured not only in the number of families housed but in the lives restored with dignity, stability, and hope.
